ITC High School Band
LESSONS- Lessons are offered to all ITC students who have played an instrument previously or who are interested in starting. Lessons on these instruments are offered: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Alto Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone/Euphonium, Tuba and Percussion.
Lesson times for band students are from Monday through Friday during the school day remotely in the afternoons. Instruments are assigned on a first come basis and will be passed out at the front door where students can sign a rental agreement and keep the instruments at home for the school year.
Meetings are scheduled at 30 minute increments set up through Microsoft Teams. Lessons are set-up so that like instruments are grouped together. During the lessons, skills on their specific instrument are taught to them.
NYSSMA Solo Evaluations: musicians can choose to perform a solo, scales and sight reading in front of a New York State Schools Music Association Adjudicator. The adjudicator provides feedback, positive comments and positive suggestions providing growth opportunities for the musician.
